That's big. And tasty. Had me many a cat. Trout? What's that? Smoked is your key, my friend. Smoked trout is farking awesome. But, you say, this cat is BIG! Well, contrary to common belief, trout get big as well. They're just a lot harder to catch than mud cats. The record lake trout is 72 pounds. 72! That aint no Brookie! And you have to go deep to get em. We aren't talking Lake Ponchartrain at 10 feet deep and 80 degrees. We're talking 100, 200 or more feet deep. Very deep Oligotrophic lakes. These lake monsters live there for a LOONG time. But smoked? Apple wood smoked lakers or rainbow trout? Heaven doesn't get any better.

Just giving you guys a hard time, as it seems this place is dead. I fished for trout for years. And to tell the truth they can be tricky, real tricky to get to bite a hook. There is a lot of science in trout fishing.

I love them brined and smoked too. My favorite way of eating them. Cold smoked is a beautiful thing!

World Record brown trout is currently a west Michigan fish. I believe it was somewhere near 49 pounds.

Sorry. 42 pounds in the Manistee River. Undoubtedly it was a lake run fish.

Big trout,or any fish,are awesome.
Say what you will but I love to fish a small stream or brook for Brookies, usually a big one goes 8-10 inches. If the water has an abundance I keep a few and cook them up over a fire with the fish on a stick.Primitive but nothing compares. While I love a good well planned fish dinner, nothing beats a campfire brookie.

That is a nice catfish.
When I was stationed in Virginia we used to head over to the James river, caught some nice channel cats there.Big carp too.In fact one of those carp made off with my fishing rod.Got it back the next day though.
My lab is the best hunting partner there is.

NO clue how much those cats weighed. I normally catch a live-well or two of them and reach in and get the biggest for a picture. I know the middle one was as long as my biggest live-well and his tail curled around.
